TechnoMagicLand showcases the science of Harry Potter

Today, a special event dedicated to the science and technology used in one of the most popular film franchises of all time, "Harry Potter", was held at the TechnoMagicLand Interactive Science and Technology Center. The event was organized by Martin Dimov, a first-year student majoring in quantum, space, and theoretical physics at the Faculty of Physics at Sofia University, for foreign guests from the Erasmus+ program, and was conducted in English. Students from Lithuania, Slovenia, Romania, and Greece visited their peers from 52nd School "Tzanko Tzerkovski" in Sofia, as part of the project "Reading Books through the Lens of STEAM", and enjoyed a unique experience at TechnoMagicLand.

Physicists and chemists from TechnoMagicLand revealed the secrets behind some of the most iconic elements of the "Harry Potter" world to the guests. The guests saw demonstrations of experiments familiar from the movie, but learned about the scientific principles behind them. There were lightning bolts, plasma ignition, telekinesis, ignition, a show with liquid nitrogen, flames in the colors of the "expelliarmus" and "avada kedavra" spells, analogues of the snitch and bludger from the magical game of Quidditch. An alternative reading of the experiments presented by Martin Dimov and Kalyan Genkov was also presented on stage, and Ivan Pendzherkov revealed how Harry Potter's magic wand works.

"Our idea was to show young students that science and magic are not mutually exclusive concepts, and that science can be very fun and interesting," shared Kristina Atanasova, Coordinator of Student Groups and School Work at TechnoMagicLand. "We hope that this event will give many more students the opportunity to get acquainted with the world of science and technology in a fun and practical way," she added.

TechnoMagicLand continues to be a popular destination for students and scholars seeking a fun and interactive way to learn about science and technology. If you want to organize a similar event for your students, TechnoMagicLand is the place where you can find scientific experts who will make learning an unforgettable and memorable experience.
